Sligoville is one of Jamaica's most historic locations. It is the first free village in the West Indies. There are many free villages for Ex slaves created by Missionaries such as the Baptists in the post emancipation era. Situated in the cool hills overlooking much of the parish of St. Catherine, it boasts magnificent scenery and provides paths which brings travelers to the Parish of St. Andrew.
